Welcome

Yes, this is the place! It's a whole new look, but this is still Karen Alfke's website, featuring 2nd Nature Design knitting patterns and Unpatterns.

Welcome also to winter, who arrived here in the Pacific Northwest with a bang and a rumble, and the longest continuous stretch of snow I've seen since I moved here ten years ago.

The snow makes for great knitting weather, however, so I hope this December and holiday season finds you knitting away peacefully, either on projects for your own enjoyment or for gifts for loved ones.

This last year saw a few changes around here: this new, sparkly website, and the availability of most of my patterns on Patternfish, the online pattern store! All the 2nd Nature patterns are up there already, and the two (yes, two!) Sock Unpatterns as well.

As always, I'm also wholesale to Local Yarn Shops nationwide. Here is a list of shops who currently carry our patterns and Unpatterns. I believe strongly in supporting your local shop, so if you love my patterns and want to get yours through them, send them my way!

Oh, and it's a brave new world for all sorts of reasons: I've been blogging, too! (That's where you can read about all the other crazy things I've been doing, like running my first marathon.)
